GB Energy understand the importance and necessity of Insulation and Central Heating which is why we offer FREE advice on grants that are available.

Insulation

By insulating your home you not only do your bit to help reduce Carbon emissions but you also:

• Save money on your energy bills
• It will give your home better energy efficiency, which could increase its value
• Insulating your home also helps to keep it cooler in the summer months too

Insulation facts

The average annual savings after insulating your home are:

• After loft insulation – £150 on average per year saved
• After cavity insulation – £115 on average per year saved
• Loft insulation needs to be 270mm in depth to stop the heat escaping
• Cavity wall insulation is done from the outside of the property which helps cause less disruption and there’s no mess inside

Central Heating

Grants coming from the UK Government can be to the value of £3,500. These grants are available to people on benefits (outlined below). Warm Front (or Warm Homes as it’s called in Northern Ireland) are the names of the schemes, for eligibility please go to the link below.

• The Energy Assistance Package (Scotland)
• Home Energy Efficiency Scheme (Wales)
• Warm Homes grant (Northern Ireland)
• Warm Front grant (England)

NB: Grant amounts for central heating vary so please read carefully the above websites.

Warm Front Eligibility

• Over 60 years of age and are currently receiving state benefits (eg. Job Seekers Allowance, Housing Benefit) and are in receipt of one or more benefits
• You are a parent claiming benefits, have a child aged 16 or under and/or are pregnant and on maternity leave
• You are in receipt of one or more benefits such as disability living allowance, child tax credit with an income of less than £16,040, housing benefit and disability premium etc.
